The 2006 election is history and it is now time to regroup. Republicans didn't fair very well which is disappointing to us all, especially to the candidates themselves. They worked so hard to have the opportunity to represent us and they deserve our thanks for their true dedication to public service! I am sure they would appreciate hearing words of thanks when you see them.
Some of the races were very close and very hard fought. One of those was the Peter Roskam race for congress in the 6th congressional district. State Senator Roskam won his election and that is a bright spot for Illinois! He has spoken to CRWN in the past so many of you did get to meet him and to hear him speak. He will be an excellent congressman for Illinoisans as he takes over the seat of Henry Hyde! Mark Kirk and Judy Biggert won their congressional re-election bids, as did the other Illinois republican congressmen. Our state did not lose any of its repubican congressmen!
CRWN's holiday party is December 7th and we hope many of you can come to celebrate the season with us at Fulton's on the River. It is important for Chicago republicans to continue to network together and to keep building our base. There are more elections ahead and the candidates will need our help! It will take a lot of hard work and I know that Chicago republicans are up to the task! You should all be proud of your volunteerism for the recent election cyle! Happy Holidays!
