Spring is here and so is the 2008 political season! The presidential campaigns have started in earnest with fund raising and of course, so have the media stories. There will be opportunities here in Illinois to learn more about the candidates and to get involved and to contribute. Once we have more specifics on the offices here, we will send that out. As an organization, we want to encourage everyone to participate in any way they can and to make sure you know who is running and how to get in touch with their staff. It will be an important election, with so much at stake for our country.
Our next event is April 18th where you will have a chance to meet and to hear from our new Cook County Republican Chairman, Elizabeth Doody Gorman who is also a Cook County Commissioner. She will talk about her goals for the party going forward. We have this reception every year to recognize Tax Freedom Day and to invite our party leaders. Our prior events for 2007 with Justice Holdridge and author Karna Bodman, former Reagan White House Senior Director of the NSC, were very interesting and enlightening. We try to host a broad range of speakers and programs to you all to meet your diverse interests.
